I recently stayed at City Hostel in Budapest for 3 nights and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The hostel had a real student vibe with a spacious room that had a large table, two beds, and a dining area. The room also had plenty of storage space, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was clean and the bed linen was of good quality. The hostel is located in a quiet area, close to a bus stop, supermarket, and McDonald's. Also, it's within walking distance from the Kerepeshi cemetery, which I highly recommend visiting.

The location was good.

It seemed as if the rooms weren't cleaned at all during the 2 months in summer where this student housing worked as a hostel. During a month of travelling, this hostel was without a doubt the dirtiest. We stayed 4 nights - and the bathroom and toilet was not cleaned or looked at even once.

The room was not clean, yet we had to wait for half an hour after arrival because they said it was being cleaned! The staff was not very interested, polite or helpful.

Great location, helpful staff, spacious room. 24-hour service during Sziget festival. Exceptional price, close to center and shopping mall. Student dorm with kitchenette, close to public transportation. Convenient for Sziget Island. Good-sized room with many closets. 3-minute walk to Danube.

You cannot imagine how dirty is this hostel. After we have arrived at the midnight we had to clean our room first before we went to the bed! For example: Nobody have cared mop up the floor in our room, it was full of mud. Do they have a chambermaid? Seems that nobody cleans the rooms. I am so glad that we have checkout the next day very early and moved to an another place. We even refuse after a hot day and a long journey to use the shower, because it was full of mold !!! Last bud not least do yourself a treat and do not stay there. The management should feel shame, because the equipment looks like its not old and the hostel looks like recently renovated. But everywhere its really dirty and full of mold! We did not excepted something for the low price but it is awful place. Would not stay there again even for free! Maybe it could be a good place to stay for backpacker - if they hire a cleaner....

The value for money at this hostel was great, with clean and bright rooms that had enough space for all our belongings. The location was convenient, with easy access to trams and buses. The staff, especially a friendly girl at the reception, were helpful and made our stay enjoyable.

The only thing that could make breakfast better is more variety in the breakfast items.

It is near the center of the city. The beds were confortable.

It was not possible to pay by card although it said so on the site. The towels cost 3 euros each if you want one.

Great rooms! Big and have all you need and even more. Very clean and fresh. Great beds toilets. I very recommend to stay in this hostel!

No WIFI connection in the room, you need to sit at reception to make all your internet tasks.

Spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff that helped us with directions and taxi. Good choice for the money, and close to the center.

Newly build so bathroom and room in very good state. Clean and comfortable. The approx. to the city and connection is very good. Either way few stops to the metro station with tram 4 or 6.

Nothing negative, would visit again!
